Tweeting Trainer Award Results 2011

At the beginning of December we asked people to vote for the ‘Tweeting Trainer Awards’ – an award for the most informative and useful tweeting trainers!

Twitter has been a superb development for the sport with helping ‘open up’ the industry. It is great to see so many Trainers using Twitter as a resource to let their fans and punters alike get up-to-date info from the yards whether it’s reactions to a result or intended runners during the week. Some even give a tip or two.

There was a huge spread of opinion on the matter, which showed in peoples votes! On our comprehensive A-Z Tweeting Trainers List, we currently have 70 plus trainers on Twitter. During the voting stage, we had votes for almost 30% of the trainers. This is really superb news for a significant move towards a more open and trustworthy sport, especially with recent corruptions charges still fresh in peoples memories.

So here it is then. The top 3 Tweeting trainers:

In 3rd Place:

Jeremy Gask @jeremygask

In 2nd Place:

Ralph Beckett @ralphbeckett

In Joint-1st Place:

Roger Charlton @RogerCharlton

Mark Usher Racing @markusherracing

Unbelievably it was a tie for the gold medal between Roger Charlton and Mark Usher! Congratulations to both and hopefully they continue their good work for the fans and punters!

We are now starting the Jockey Twitter Awards to find out the most informative and personal jockeys on Twitter!  Vote for your top 3 jockeys including our Twitter name @HRacingTavern and #tja !
